Grapes explode when put in the microwave

Grapes actually explode when put in the microwave as demonstrated in this video:

President George Washington's Teeth

There are many myths about George Washington and one of the biggest myths are the fact that his false teeth were made of wood.  George Washington did have false teeth but the fact is that his false teeth were more then likely made of metal or ivory.  According to many historians George Washington had false teeth made of metal, a cows tooth and hippopotamus ivory.
George Washington had false teeth at a young age and by his second inaugural address he only had one real tooth left.  Dentistry back in the seventeen hundreds was basically non-existent and therefore the dentures that George Washington had in were extremely painful and many said he only wore them when he had to give a speech.  Therefore many of George Washington’s public appearances were cut very short and he generally would not speak very long.

Fire Rainbow

"The fire rainbow is the rarest of all naturally occurring phenomena. The clouds must be cirrus and at an altitude of 20,000 feet at least. There must be just the right amount of ice crystals present, as well.
The sun has to hit the clouds at exactly 58 degrees. It makes the rainbow appear to be on fire, hence the name. It’s actually cold as ice, though. In the weather world, the phenomena is known as a circumhorizontal arc." - OMGFACTS

Where The Word Sh*t Comes From

Certain types of manure used to be transported (as everything was years ago) by ship. In dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, it not only became heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by-product is methane gas.
As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen. Methane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM!

Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was discovered what was happening. After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the term "S.H.I.T" on them which meant to the sailors to "Ship High In Transit."

In other words, high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane.

Beyonce's New Summer Job

Beyoncé continues her reign upon mainstream media and pop culture. The international superstar is heating up the summer in a new campaign for H&M.

As part of her partnership with the clothing retailer, the 31-yr-old singer and fashionista will appear in television and print ads wearing pieces from the H&M summer collection. The print and outdoor billboards introduce “Beyoncé as Mrs. Carter in H&M,” a reference to her upcoming world tour.
“I’ve always liked H&M’s focus on fun and affordable fashion,” said Beyonce, who had input into most of the designs. “I really loved the concept we collaborated on to explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements—fire, water, earth and wind. It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island. It felt more like making a video than a commercial.”
The womenswear, which is described as strong, vulnerable, sensual, maternal, fun, and flirtatious, includes a fringed bikini, bodycon dress, flowing sun dress, high-waisted shorts, and sleeveless shirt.
“H&M’s summer campaign starring Beyoncé is epic, with glamour, drama and also a sense of paradise,” said Donald Schneider, Creative Director for H&M. “It was amazing to watch her on the shoot make it all look effortless—a quality that makes her such an icon for women around the world. The campaign is the essence of Beyoncé, and also the essence of H&M this summer.”

The Odd Case Of The Missing Days

On September 2, 1752, an odd happening occurred that's still keeping genealogists on their toes. On that day, the British Isles and all the English colonies, including America, lost 11 days--September 3 through 13. People went to sleep and when they awoke the next morning, the date had changed to September 14. There were riots in rural villages since the people thought the government was trying to cheat them out of 11 days of their lives.

The year 1752 is a leap year, with 355 days in total (The calendar changed from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar this year, and a number of days were dropped during this process).

Rihanna and Chris Brown's Wedding

Chris Brown and Rihanna (Picture: Getty)
Rumors have been buzzing via the Internet that Rihanna and Chris Brown may be preparing to make it official late this Summer, there have even been report that Rihanna will not rock the traditional white dress but instead a bikini while have the ceremony on the beach in her Native Barbados. So much has been made of her and Chris's reunion and their appearance together at the Grammy's this year, appearing seemingly happy together once more. In all honesty, none of this was a surprised to me as so many others may have saw this coming as well. Whatever they choose to do as far as a wedding goes, I'm sure it'll be different and sure to make national news.

Katy Perry and John Mayer split

Katy Perry and John Mayer have called it quits...AGAIN, sources tell Us Weekly. The pop star and singer-songwriter started dating the summer of 2012 then split briefly in August before getting back together a month later.

"It's sad," one friend told the magazine, though added, "It's not over until it's over. You have to see how things play out." What started as a casual relationship seemed to ramp up following their September reconciliation, including making visits to Perry's hometown and appearing together at events like this year's Grammys.

Another friend told the magazine that both musicians' busy schedules, saying that Perry is "leaving the window open. They have been so focused on work." Perry is in the midst of recording her third studio LP, while Mayer is about to start touring again following major surgery to repair a granuloma in his throat.

This seems to be trend in the music business, break up to make up then break up some more. I guess only time will tell what's to happen to this odd couple.

Kourtney Kardashian Without Makeup

Celebs without " War paint " and or Makeup is strangely an interesting thing to see. It's amazing how the use of makeup can completely transform people, even those in which you previously thought were near perfect. We're all human and it's photos of celebs vulnerable without any makeup that can be often used as proof. Kourtney Kardashian's before and after.

Though not to distract, the difference is very apparent.

Smithers from the Simpsons originally had brown skin

Smithers was partly based on how numerous Fox executives and staff members acted towards Barry Diller. The idea for Smithers' orientation came from Sam Simon, who proposed that Smithers should be gay, but the writers should never draw too much attention to it and should try to keep it in the back of their heads. The name Waylon was first used in "I Married Marge" and comes from the puppeteer Wayland Flowers. In his first visual appearance in "Homer's Odyssey", Smithers was mistakenly animated with the wrong color and was made an African American by Gyorgi Peluci, the color stylist.
Smithers' relationship with Mr. Burns has long been a running gag on The Simpsons. Smithers is an obedient and sycophantic assistant to Mr. Burns. In many ways, Smithers represents the stereotype of the closeted gay man, and numerous overt allusions and doubles entendres concerning his homosexuality are made, though some of the show's producers instead refer to him as a "Burns-sexual". - WikiPedia

Family Guy began as Larry & Steve

Family Guy started as a cartoon called “Larry & Steve”. Check it out in the video below:

You’ll notice that the two main characters, Larry and his dog Steve, sound just like Peter Griffin and Brian. Of course, that’s because the creator of both cartoons, Seth McFarlane, is also the voice actor for all four of these characters. This animated short premiered on Cartoon Network back in 1997, but it was actually based on a project called The Life of Larry. FOX would later see this and contact Seth to create the show we now know as Family Guy.

KFC Brain or Kidney in Chicken

Ibrahim Langoo, 19, posted the photo below on his Facebook account last month. Langoo came across the item at a KFC in Colchester, England. " I just wanted to get out of KFC as quickly as I could. I still feel really sick and disgusted by it all now," Langoo told The Sun. " I threw it down onto my tray immediately. It looked like a brain. I suddenly felt grim and really sick."

This is not the first of weird photos of food from KFC, there are always a few that pop up via the Internet over the course of the year, I wonder what's next. Does this discourage you from eating at KFC?

Marvel created a superhero named Throg. He is a frog that has the power of Thor and is in a group called the Pet Avengers

" Simon was a professional football player, who lost his wife and unborn child. In a depression, he went from mystics to fortune tellers trying to find out the truth. When he could not pay for one's services, she cursed him and turned him into a frog. He was accepted by a frog community in Central Park, where he met Thor after the thunder god had been turned into a frog by Loki. After this adventure, he found a sliver of Mjolnir and became Throg." - Marvel

Most Famous " Real life " Zombie

In 1981, Angelina Narcisse let out an attention-grabbing scream in an open market in the town of L’Estère. No, no one had grabbed her purse or anything. Just that her brother whom she had not, ahem, seen in a long time had approached her for some small talk. It would have been a most joyous reunion, except that, well, back in 1962 she and her whole family had buried this beloved brother.

Flashback to 1962! Clairvius Narcisse felt so sick that he checked himself into called Albert Schweitzer Hospital in the town of Deschapelles, miles away from his hometown. The doctors, one a doctor from the US, and the other trained in the US, diagnosed him with a combination of disorders including hypotension and pulmonary edema. Narcisse had a terrible fever, and was experiencing breathing problems, and would later say that he felt a strange sensation all over his body, something akin to bugs crawling all over his skin. Soon thereafter, he was pronounced dead by the doctors, and his sister Marie-Claire affixed her thumb print on the death certificate in lieu of signing.
Narcisse was buried. Throughout this, he (later) said, he could hear everything that was happening around him; he just couldn’t respond. He could hear his sister Angelina weeping at his bedside, and his whole funeral procession. He could feel the nail that went through his casket, and would later develop a scar on his forehead from it. A priest of the vodun religion, along with many others came to his grave site, took his body out of coffin, and beat him profusely, then tied him up, and carried him miles away from his home.
He was taken somewhere where he joined semi-stupefied people like him, and worked day and night on a large farm. There he was given some kind of concoction everyday, so that he could never regain his common sense. Eventually though, one of his fellow “zombies” beat the captor with hoe, and they all escaped. Narcisse, who had been on the plantation for two years, learned at one point that his brother was the one who had gotten him poisoned over a property dispute, so after his escape he avoided his hometown—fearing his brother—though apparently he kept close contact with people would keep him informed of the happenings in his town. In the meantime, he wandered around near the vicinity of his home, as a mandyan (a (sometimes) homeless person who begs passers-by for food and change), until he learned that his brother had died.
The fact that Narcisse was indeed the Narcisse that had died years ago, was confirmed by Lamarque Douyon, a Haitian psychiatrist. Douyon formulated a questionnaire series and Narcisse answered them all correctly to the letter. Douyon also got about 200 witnesses including friends and family members to confirm his identity. What’s more, when Narcisse had initially approached his sister in the open air market, he had used a nickname for himself that the family had for him, in his early childhood that only they would have known.
Narcisse’s case attracted a great deal of international media, including New Scientist magazine and Time magazine which both wrote feature stories in 1983. The BBC sent a crew to Haiti in 1981 to produce a documentary on his case, and ABC also sent reporters. Harvard University even sent a young ethnobotanist by the name of Wade Davis to do some studies on Narcisse. Davis’s trips to Haiti would later yield two books, one of which was The Serpent and the Rainbow, (a bestseller in the USA), the basis for a movie of the same name that was released in 1988.

The Truth About Ring Around The Rosie

Everyone has heard it and you've probably participated in the singing and playing of the game but there's an eerie truth to the " Ring around the Rosie " game.

It's about the Bubonic Plague. It took out 1/3 of the people in Europe years back.

"Ring around the Rosie"...

In the disease, you would have rings around you. Especially around your pinkie. Which they used to call the roseie.

"Pocket full of posies"...

Posies are flowers ...and the smell was to take away the smell of the dead (like a past lysol)

"Ashes, Ashes"...

When people died of this disease  they had to burn their body in stead of burying it so the disease wouldn't spread from the dead body.

And I think you can figure out the "We all fall down" part.

Now you'll think twice before you sing that...

Popping a pimple in this spot can cause death

The danger triangle of the face consists of the area from the corners of the mouth to the bridge of the nose, including the nose and maxilla. Due to the special nature of the blood supply to the human nose and surrounding area, it is possible cause infections from the nasal area to spread to the brain which may result in death.

9/11 Prediction

We know the ratings for Fox's short-lived X-Files spinoff The Lone Gunmen were bad, but this is ridiculous. Six months before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks — March 4, 2001, to be exact —Gunmen premiered with an episode featuring a terrorist plot to fly a commercial airliner into the World Trade Center. The climactic sequence actually shows the plane heading into one of the Twin Towers, but at the last minute, it's pulled upward and just misses the building.

Sand Under a Microscope

This is truly mind blowing, grains of sand under a microscope. The photos are amazing!

That's the thing about sand -- it's not just a bunch of tiny little rocks, it's a bunch of tiny little everything. In that picture, you're seeing little bits that have scraped off of the shells of sea creatures, some dried up plankton, coral, bits of minerals and who knows what else.

Grandma falls in love with grandson

In 2010, Pearl Carter  began a bizarre relationship with her 26-year-old grandchild Phil Bailey.
Pearl, from Indiana, used her pension to pay $54,000 (£35,000) to a surrogate mother so they can have a child, say reports in New Idea magazine in New Zealand.

Pearl said: “I'm not interested in anyone else's opinion. I am in love with Phil and he's in love with me. Soon I'll be holding my son or daughter in my arms and Phil will be the proud dad.”

Pearl says the relationship is not wrong after a friend told her about Genetic Sexual Attraction (GSA) syndrome, which occurs when close relatives meet as adults and find they are attracted to each other.

In my opinion, this sort of thing is gross!!!! What's the world coming to!

Man Kept Father's Dead Body for Five Months

A man left his father's dead body in bed for nearly five months so he could claim his benefit payments - even telling his innocent 10-year-old daughter that her grandfather was just asleep.
Christopher Blackburn was jailed for three years after police found the body of his father Guy, 54, on a bed in the living room of his home in Penwortham, Lancashire.

Blackburn was living at the house alongside the body but kept quiet about his father's death as he pocketed over £2,000.

Anti-HIV Gel For Women

According to a study conducted by the Center for the AIDS Program of Research in South Africa, the gel contains the effective anti-HIV drug tenofovir and could reduce the risk of infection by 39 percent if women use the vaginal gelatin before or within 12 hours after sexual intercourse.

Michel Sidibe, secretary general of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS said the new research result provides women with a possibility of preventing HIV infection.
"It is the first research result specific to protect women from HIV infection. If this research result pass through the further examinations, it will be an effective way to prevent the spread of AIDS," he said.

Make Up Fails Part One

So, I thought this would be interesting as well as a bit funny. So as I sit here writing this, I'm dying of laughter, you'll see what I mean, these pics are horrible. You've been warned.

Studies suggest that laughter is the best medicine, hopefully this made you laugh, just a bit.

First Man Cured of HIV Virus

At his first U.S. news conference, the first and only man to be cured of HIV infection says he's setting up a foundation to help fund an AIDS cure.

Timothy Ray Brown, 45, was living in Berlin and being treated for his HIV infection with a normal anti-HIV drug regimen. When he developed leukemia, he underwent a bone marrow transplant. His doctor decided to look for a donor who had a rare genetic mutation that makes a person resistant to HIV infection.
A donor was then found. After having his own blood cells eradicated with radiation and powerful chemotherapy, Brown received the transplant with the anti-HIV mutation. While recovering, he was unable to take his anti-HIV drugs -- yet there was no sign of the virus in his body.

Five years later, Brown remains free of HIV. A recent report that there may be lingering virus in his body is not true, Brown proclaimed at the news conference.

"Despite what you may have heard recently, I am cured of the AIDS virus," Brown said. "I am cured and will remain cured."
Brown said that doctors have tried the same type of transplant on nine other leukemia patients with HIV. None of the others survived their cancer.

How to control your dreams

Wouldn't it be cool, the ability to control your own dreams? I myself have tried these steps and I'm noticing a bit of progress.
1. Remember your ordinary dreams.
A lot of people say ‘I don’t dream’, everybody dreams, whilst you may not remember them you still dream. To start remembering your dreams try this simple technique.
Each night before drifting off to sleep repeat the phrase ‘I will remember my dreams as soon as I wake up’. Say this phrase over and over until you fall asleep, after a few days you will start to remember your ordinary dreams.
2. Keep a dream journal
This can be tedious but it’s well worth the effort. Even writing a few short sentences about your dream is enough. This will get you into the habit of remembering your ordinary dreams and to start looking for dream signs within your dreams. It can also be a tool to analyze your thought processes.
3. Pick out dream signs
A lot of your ordinary dreams will have objects or people in them that could act as a cue to you waking up in your dreams. For example if you regularly talk to ‘Elvis’ in your ordinary dreams this is an obvious dream sign and can be used to ask yourself if you are dreaming because you know Elvis is dead.
4. Notice your waking world
To be conscious in your dream world means you have to be conscious in your waking world. That might sound crazy, as you are conscious when you are awake. However what I mean is ‘consciously focused’ . For example you are consciously focused when learning a new task, you are thinking about every action you are taking to get the right steps. When you have learned the new task you no longer have to focus as intently as you did when learning it. Being consciously focused means looking around you and saying what you see, feel, hear, smell and touch and voicing it. This has the added benefit of being in the moment and can help you to inner calmness, it’s almost zen like.
If you start to consciously focus on the world around you, you will carry this over into the dream world.
5. Ask yourself; ‘Am I dreaming?’
Ask yourself just now ‘Am I dreaming?’. Your obvious answer is to say no, of course you are not dreaming. How do you know? Don’t just say; because I know, try and think about why you are not dreaming. For example you could say if I was dreaming I would be able to fly. When you are dreaming you cannot read text for longer than a few seconds, so try reading text to prove to yourself you are not dreaming.
This again will carry over into your dreaming world and you will start asking the same questions in your dreams which can turn into a lucid dream.
6. Your first lucid dream
Many people have their first lucid dream simply by reading about it. You might find that you become over-excited and lose the lucid dream however, you first lucid dream will be remembered for years to come.
7. Staying lucid
I have used different techniques to stay within a dream however by far the best one is calming myself down with self talk and dream spinning. If you find that you are losing your lucidity you can talk to yourself to calm yourself down and just start noticing the things around you in your dream.
Dream spinning is when you feel you are losing control of your dream you mentally spin like a tornado to stay within your dream. This is focusing the mind on staying lucid.

Alien Like Skulls Found in Mexico

According to dailymail report, Archaeologists have uncovered 25 “alien”-looking human skulls with in a cemetery in Sonora, in northern Mexico. Researchers have found these strange alien-like human skulls at a Mexican cemetery more than a 1,000 years old.

25 skeletons were found in the burial site, out of 13 had intentional cranial deformation  and only one was female. Many were ornamented, and five had purposefully mutilated teeth — teeth ground or filed into unconventional shapes.
