What Women Really Mean, When They Say

(1) Fine:
This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes:
If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing:
This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in “Fine.”

(4) Go Ahead:
This is a dare, not permission. Don’t Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh:
This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That’s Okay:
This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That’s okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks:
A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you’re welcome. (I want to add in a clause here – This is true, unless she says ‘Thanks a lot’ – that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say ‘you’re welcome’ . that will bring on a ‘whatever’).

(8) Whatever:
Is a woman’s way of saying F–YOU!

(9) Don’t worry about it, I got it:
Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking ‘What’s wrong?’ For the woman’s response refer to # 3.

McDonald's burgers and fries don't decompose

The reason for the lack of change in the year-old McDonald's Happy Meal is the number of preservatives in the food.  Preservative calcium propionateis what keeps the food looking the same...even after a year. Check out the photos below.

Not sleeping enough can shrink your BRAIN!

Insomnia may have alarming neurological affects, according to a study recently published in the journal Biological Psychiatry. Dutch researchers found that chronically sleepless subjects tended to have less gray matter in their left orbitofrontal cortex than those who sleep more soundly — a condition that's also associated with depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

You need 7 hours of sleep

Sleep researchers have long argued over the optimal duration of sleep for healthy adults, with most balancing somewhere between five and eight. West Virginia University claims to have come up with the "magic number": seven hours. A study of 30,000 adults found that the risk of cardiovascular disease was significantly lower among those who claimed to regularly sleep seven hours a night.

Why Do Women Live Longer Than Men

One important reason is the big delay — and advantage — women have over men in terms of cardiovascular disease, like heart attack and stroke. Women develop these problems usually in their 70s and 80s, about 10 years later than men, who develop them in their 50s and 60s. For a long time, doctors thought the difference was due to estrogen

Yawning is contagious.

Like contagious laughter and contagious crying, scientists have theorized that contagious yawning is a shared experience that promotes social bonding.

If one has ever seen someone in close proximity yawn, then one may note the distinct feeling or urge to yawn as well. It is true that between 40-60% of people will automatically find yawning contagious and yawn themselves. The standard answers from scientists as to why people find yawning contagious used to be, “We don’t know, but we have some theories.” Research conducted in 2005 by Finnish scientists, however, may point to preliminary reasons why some find yawning contagious.
When one witnesses someone else yawning, one has a mostly unconscious urge to yawn. People may become conscious of the urge, but scientists suggest the beginning of the yearn to yawn is unconscious. This means that the signal to yawn must bypass a response called the mirror neuron system, which would render yawning in response to someone else a conscious and imitative act. Scientists have often, in the past, suggested that the mirror neuron system causes yawning.

Athazagoraphobia is the fear of being forgotten!

What is Athazagoraphobia?

Athazagoraphobia is the fear of being forgotten or ignored and fear of forgetting.  Athazagoraphobia is a surprisingly common phobia.
What are the causes?
It is generally accepted that phobias arise from a combination of external events (i.e. traumatic events) and internal predispositions (i.e. heredity or genetics). Many specific phobias can be traced back to a specific triggering event, usually a traumatic experience at an early age. Social phobias and agoraphobia have more complex causes that are not entirely known at this time. It is believed that heredity, genetics, and brain chemistry combine with life-experiences to play a major role in the development of phobias. (Wikipedia - phobia).
What are the symptoms?
As with any phobia, the symptoms vary by person depending on their level of fear. The symptoms typically include extreme anxiety, dread and anything associated with panic such as shortness of breath, rapid breathing, irregular heartbeat, sweating, excessive sweating, nausea, dry mouth, nausea, inability to articulate words or sentences, dry mouth and shaking. .
Can I take medicine?
Medicine can be prescribed, but please note that these medications can have side effects and/or withdrawal systems that can be severe. It is also importation to note that medicines do not cure phobias, at best they only temporarily suppress the systems. However, there are treatments for phobias, which include counseling, hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, and Neuro-Linguistic programming. Please click on the link at the top of the page called “Treatment Information” to find out more information on these types of treatments.

People who laugh a lot are much healthier than those who don’t.

People who laugh a lot are much healthier than those who don't. Dr. Lee Berk at the Loma Linda School of Public Health in California found that laughing lowers levels of stress hormones, and strengthens the immune system. Six-year-olds have it best - they laugh an average of 300 times a day. Adults only laugh 15 to 100 times a day.

Carrots used to be purple, not orange.

Purple carrots have extra antioxidant power because of their unique anthocyanins, as well as extra beta-carotenes. Anthocyanins are special color pigments that double as pretty powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants are common in many of the red, blue, and purple produce and work to combat free radicals. Free radicals damage our body’s cells and we intake them in many ways, including ingesting deep fried foods. The extra antioxidants in purple carrots are great for the prevention of blood clotting and, therefore, also heart diseases. They are anti-inflammatory agents as well as anti-bacterial.
