Robert Sand owes over 1 million dollars in child support

A New York man considered to be America's most wanted deadbeat parent pleaded guilty Thursday to owing more than $1.2 million to three children from two failed marriages, 

Robert Sand, 50, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Long Island to two counts of failing to pay child support as far back as the 1990s, The Christian Science Monitor reported. 

To avoid making payments, Sand fled the country after warrants for his arrest were issued in 2000 and 2002. He told the judge he fled to Florida and then to Thailand, where he worked a series of odd jobs. He then flew to the Philippines, where he was arrested and then deported for lacking proper identification.
